Locations of Armor Capsules
Blue Capsules:

Head: Gives X the ground penetrating radar. Get the Triad Thunder and the X-Buster Upgrade, then go to the Tunnel Rhino's stage. At the part where you see a suspended stone, charge the T. Thunder and release it to make the stone fall. Climb up.

Body: A force field surrounds X whenever he gets hit, resulting in half damage. Get the Gravity Well and the X-Buster upgrade, then go to the Volt Catfish's stage. At the third elevator, ride it all the way up, past the first stop on the right, to find another stop on the left. Stand on the odd-looking block, and fire a charged G. Well. Go get the capsule.

Arms: X gets an improved version of the Double Shot. He can now cause the two shots to cross link and form a more powerful blast. Get the Tornado Fang and the foot upgrade, then go to the to Neon Tiger's stage. At the part after the three wall-maker bots, before the ladder, you will see an odd-looking wall. Shoot it with the T. Fang, then go to the right until you get to the ledge. Dash jump right, then up-dash up to the capsule

Feet: X can now air-dash left, right, or up. Go to Blizzard Buffalo's stage, to the part with the blizzard. Stay up top when you have the option of going down. Dash-jump to the right to get into a room with the capsule.

Red-violet capsules (enhancement chips):

*note: you can only get one of these per game, and you must have the corresponding part from a blue capsule to get one of these, (although you can use create your own password to get up to three).

Head: X gets recovery powers. He can restore his energy by not doing anything for a while. Get any RRA, though I prefer the Hawk, and go to Blast Hornet's stage. Got to the RRA pad through the passage in the ceiling, and suit up the RRA. Go to the right until you get to the edge of the floor. Dash jump right in the RRA, then at the peak, jump out and to the right. If you are using the hawk, just hover over after the dash jump.

Body: Get an RRA and go to Crush Crab's stage. Get the RRA at the pad immediately below the starting point. Go to the right, to the point where the mace bot goes through the floors. Go down and to the right, then down the pit. Destroy the wall to the left with the RRA, and go through.

Arms: X gets the Hyper C, which stores damage to let him use charged shots without charging, when selected. Get an RRA, and go to Gravity Beetle's stage. Go the RRA pad, then go to the right, up the short tunnel by dash jumping up the ledges, then to the right until you get to the wall. Smash it with the RRA, and go in to get the capsule.

Legs: Lets X dash twice in the air. Get the Frog RRA, and go to the Toxic Seahorse's stage. At the area where you go into the water, first go to the right to get the Frog from the RRA pad. Swim through, and destroy the fans at the end of the upper path. Then, climb up the walls to get the capsule.

Locations of Hearts

Blast Hornet: Get the Chimera RRA (N) by following the guide later in the section, or get the air-dash. Go to the area after the miniboss, and go through to the point before the door to the Bit/Byte room. Either jump in the mech, then jump out of it mid-jump, or up air-dash to grab onto the wall, and scale up it to get the heart.

Gravity Beetle: First, you must defeat the Blast Hornet and Gravity Beetle. Then, go into the area where there were a bunch of blocks before, at the beginning of the stage. It is in the upper left hand corner of the large room.

Blizzard Buffalo: Go to the RRA pad, then go destroy the ice blocks to the right.
Toxic Seahorse: AT the long vertical climb, keep going up after the apparent end up the climb.
Volt Catfish: At the second elevator BESIDES the one that leads down near the very beginning of the stage, keep going up after the first exit from the elevator shaft. Go to the other exit, then air-dash across the spikes.

Crush Crab: Get and RRA, then go to where the mace-bot falls through the floors. Go all the way to right, across the gap, then go down each level of floor that the mace-bot broke. At the last level before you see the mace-bot again, you can destroy the right wall with the RRA, and get the heart.

Tunnel Rhino: Get the T. Thunder and the X Buster upgrade, then go up to where you see the bouncing rock-bot, go to the right through the passage, and make the stone fall.

Neon Tiger: At the end of the level, jump on the dragonfly and ride it to the right, or up air-dash to the wall, and scale up.

Locations of Sub-Tanks

Tunnel Rhino: After the mud droppers, and right before the shaft with the two scorpion bots, it is up and right.

Neon Tiger: At the part just above the second thrower bot and before the mace-bot, kill the mace bot and either jump on the dragonfly or up air-dash to get it.

Volt Catfish: Go to the room just after the Bit/Byte room, and go up instead of down. Get an RRA, then go all the way down. You'll crash through the floor, and the sub-tank is to the left.

Blizzard Buffalo: It is visible. Just up air-dash from the platform to the right to get it.

Locations of Robot Ride Armors (RRA)

Note: The Chimera is needed to use any if the others.

Chimera (N): Go to the Blast Hornet's stage, after the miniboss. At the second set if two blocks, shoot them to make a hole in the floor. Go down, and shoot a T. Fang into the left wall. Go down and destroy the bot. There is an elevator to the left, so you can take the mech up with you.

Hawk (H): Go to Crush Crab's stage, and go to the part where there is an unusual floor tile which will negate the T. Thunder. Charge the T. Thunder, and break through the floor.

Frog (F): In Gravity Beetle's stage, just after the Bit/Byte room, climb up the ladder, then scale up the scaffolding wall on you left. Up air-dash off the wall to get the F icon.

Kangaroo (K): In the Toxic Seahorse's stage, go to the water area. Charge the Frost Shield just to the right of the pit, then grab onto the iceberg and float up. Up air-dash if needed to get it.

Locations of Teleporters

These take X to the Underground Factory, where he will fight Vile.

Blizzard Buffalo: At the part where the bouncing ice bots are, go to the ladder, but instead, slide down the wall.

Crush Crab: Go to the area after the Bit/Byte room, and go to where the energy cap is. Drop through the floor.

Volt Catfish: Ride the very first elevator down

Maverick Guide

Here's the list of weapons that affect each Maverick the best. For Bit, Byte, and Vile, it will completely destroy them (instead of them just teleporting away), and cause new bosses in the Point D: Doppler's Lab stages.

Toxic Seahorse: Frost Shield
Volt Catfish: Tornado Fang
Crush Crab: Triad Thunder

Secrets, Tips, and Tricks

Golden X: Get everything except for a red-violet capsule, and go to Doppler Lab stage 1. At the point where there are spiked balls coming from chutes, slide down the left side of the pit to the left of the first stage. You must have full life, and full sub-tanks. This capsule gives you all four red- violet capsules in one.

Zero's Sabre: To get this, all you have to do is destroy Vile with one of the weapons listed above, the go to the second Doppler Lab stage. Before the door to Mosquitus, switch to Zero, and fight Mosquitus with him. When he dies, the Mosquitus will injure Zero, and he will give X the Beam Sabre

Weapons: Each weapon has something unique about it. Here's a list:
Parasitic Bomb: Can turn some enemies into bomb that seek out other enemies in the area.
Gravity Well: Can affect a large area, and is the only way to lift the block in Volt Catfish's stage.
Frost Shield: Almost always gets a life cap from destroying an enemy. Gets larger in water.
Acid Burst: Almost always gets weapon energy from defeated enemies. Can fire forward, up or down.
Triad Thunder: Press fire button repeatedly to switch triad up and down, maintaining field longer.
Spinning Blade: Most powerful weapon in the game. Charged form can swing around X by pressing up or down.
Tornado Fang: Charged form can stick in walls, allowing X to remain at a constant height while scaling walls.
Ray Splasher: Second most powerful weapon. Can destroy Byte and Vile. Large attack radius.

Slightly alternate ending: If Zero is dead, Doppler will save X at the end instead of Zero, and Zero will be absent from the ending scenes.
